UpcyclePost Ready to Beta Test its Etsy Style Marketplace for Upcycle Artisans

Snoqualmie, WA (PRWEB) April 17, 2015

UpcyclePost, Inc. announced today that the closed beta test of its highly anticipated Etsy style marketplace is due to begin on May 4th. The company has started to issue the first wave of invitations to participate in the testing process and is planning to add more participants over the course of the beta test. Beta testers will provide valuable feedback to UpcyclePost as they test the service for functionality, stability, speed and reliability.

In the UpcyclePost marketplace beta test upcycle artisans (artists and crafters who make new products from repurposed items) will be able to test all of the newly developed store functionality that will sit alongside the already launched Idea Gallery, Profile Gallery, social media integration tools and communications functionality. None of the existing functionality available on the site today will be impacted by the test.

“This is the last major function of our first phase of development to be added to the site,” said Rich Lancaster, Founder and CEO, UpcyclePost, “We’ve been working towards this moment for over a year and we couldn’t be more excited about the number of users we already have, the artisans who we have ready to participate in the beta and the functionality our team has already launched.”

UpcyclePost identifies itself as the first “Social Sharing Marketplace,”© a tightly integrated combination of social media and sharing capabilities that includes a rich, full screen, high resolution member profile, a board of member posted images, tools to facilitate open communication between artisans and buyers and the ability to directly share profile, product and member information across the most used social media sites.

“We believe that integrating social and sharing capabilities with a marketplace will enable all of our members to have a much richer buying and selling experience,” added Lancaster, “and we’re eager to see all of these capabilities come together for the first time, especially for the emerging upcycle industry which is what we are all about.”

Master Upcycler, Rodney Allen Trice of T.O.M.T, Inc. has been a part of the UpcyclePost community for several months and had this to say, “For more than 2 decades I have been developing my personal artistic voice using found materials. For the bulk of that time I have worked in my own little bubble dependent on “lady luck” to connect me with buyers in a market that was still finding its legs. Through that time, upcycling has become a larger movement than I could have dreamed and the need on my part and the part of so many artisans for an arena like The UpcyclePost Marketplace is essential to continued growth and development of some of the most clever thinking for the reduction of the massive amount of waste mankind produces. This marketplace has been needed for a while!”

To participate as an upcycle artisan in the UpcyclePost closed beta test people are encouraged to contact Mark Howe, Founder and VP of Business Development at mark(at)upcyclepost(dot)com.

UpcyclePost is a privately owned Snoqualmie, WA-based company that provides a collaborative community for upcycle artisans, crafters, DIYers, makers and consumers of products made from used or discarded materials. The company’s vision is to encourage a less wasteful society by creating an online platform that fulfills the needs of the emerging upcycle industry to share ideas, raw materials and finished products.
