New Book Inspires Personal Reflection in Readers

Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) May 15, 2014

Author and psychologist Gemma Keatley combines her professional and personal experiences in her new book, “Guided” (published by Balboa Press).

Set during World War II in an undisclosed location, “Guided” differs from many other books in that the main character remains nameless throughout. After fleeing her farm from the soldiers, the young protagonist arrives at a safe house, scared and unsure of where to go until she receives a vision that compels her to seek a religious life.

The protagonist leaves the house and finds an abbey where she meets Mother Superior, a kindhearted nun who encourages the protagonist to embrace the gifts life has given her. With Mother Superior’s guidance, the young girl learns to take responsibility for her life.

“’Guided’ is emotionally powerful and thought-provoking,” writes Keatley. “It is timeless in that it can be enjoyed over and over again, and it is uplifting and entertaining.”

Through her book, Keatley hopes to challenge readers’ perceptions of their lives by reminding them that they have the power to change their own lives for the better.

“We are never alone and we are always protected,” Keatley reminds her readers. “Despite the hardships of life we can still choose to make our own lives better.”
