Marco Island, FL (PRWEB) January 14, 2015
“So, what time does school start,” a seasonal visitor asks Abigail Widynski. “A little bit late today, aren’t you?”
Chuckling from her usual early morning spot at Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts on Marco Island, she’s used to friendly chatter and more than occasional questions about her reading and writing.
She simply says, “Actually, I’ve been out of school quite a few years.” Widynski smiles, not adding she’s been working on her own book about, of all things, paying for college.
Attending American University for undergraduate studies and graduating from Imperial College London’s Business School nearly seven years ago, Abigail Widynski never envisioned writing a book nor realized quite the reach of the college debt crisis beyond her own experience of taking out loans for her first degree.
“As a financier working with entrepreneurs coupled with my own educational experiences, I believe that not all education happens in a classroom, just like not all tuition is paid to a college or university,” says Widynski. “And as I read the headlines in 2014 underlining the severity of college debt, what I didn’t read was a solution. A solution that would help a student or graduate make that next loan payment: entrepreneurship.”
Surveying college students about their experiences in part-time jobs and researching quick-start, low capital business ideas through her own company, Sovereign Venture Advisors, Widynski went to work writing ‘Making Money the Millennial Way: An Entrepreneurial Approach to Getting Out of College Debt.’
“When I came to Marco Island three years ago, I quickly realized this is a writer’s playground! I never thought I’d write a book but perhaps there’s something in the gulf air here,” Abigail says with a laugh.
On Friday, January 16, Widynski launches her debut book aimed at college students and Millennial parents. ‘Making Money the Millennial Way’ is part-motivational and wholly practical. Each chapter ends with questions under the subject of ‘Capitalizing on Unique You.’
“This is a solutions-driven book to give college students hope,” says Widynski. “Tangibly, that means students have 25 low-cost, quick-start business ventures at their fingertips. And that’s something I’m excited to put in their hands sooner…rather than later!”
Making Money the Millennial Way: An Entrepreneurial Approach to Getting Out of College Debt will be available to purchase in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, Japan and Brazil on Friday, January 16th.
